I don't know what exactly brought you here, but here's what I do know: you're here for a reason. And can I just say? I am so glad you're here! Pull up a chair, grab your drink of choice, and let's have a heart-to-heart, 'kay?
Maybe you stumbled upon this page from social media or someone shared it with you. Maybe you're white-knuckling your business so hard that you are to the point of burnout. Or maybe you don't even have a photography business at all, but you dream to start one someday. Perhaps you just need some direction/reassurance. No matter what - I can confidently say that this workshop is for you, friend.
Here's a tale of how the Cynthia Boyle Photography Workshop came to be:
It was a warm + breezy day back in 2008 when Cynthia (tehe that's me - I'm typing in third person to add effect to the story) picked up her first camera (a point + shoot camera, to be exact). She had no idea that this moment would change her life forever (ha, how romantic). Cynthia didn't know what aperture, composition, or rule of thirds meant. All she knew was that taking pictures felt good. So good. She began taking portraits of her friends + editing them in PicMonkey (seriously). Oh, she had such a long journey ahead of her, but that's okay. Each night she went to bed so happy she was able to freeze otherwise forgettable moments forever.
Over the next decade, Cynthia learned, and she learned, and she learned. And her business grew, and it grew, and it grew.
It seems like photographers are all simultaneously competing with each other. I used to feel that way, too. I felt like I had to have it all together, be the best in my area, get all of the clients, do #allthethings.. but to be honest, I had never felt so alone before. I was hiding the fact that I felt like a complete fraud!
But then..... I started attending workshops and doing online courses and everything changed. Suddenly I wasn't this unsure girl who randomly received a camera for my 12th birthday + came onto photography by happenstance. I learned there was a great population of photographers who wanted COMMUNITY. I found out they wanted to learn from each other. Not all photographers want to pretend to be the best thing since sliced bread. (Though there will always be some people like that..).
This epiphany...it changed the trajectory of my business. I learned and implemented what I learned, and soon grew my business so much that I quit my day job, became a full-time wedding photographer, and haven't looked back! It has allowed me to stay at home with my daughter, Vanessa. (Mom by day, photographer/editor by night [and early mornings].. not all heroes wear capes;)).
The Cynthia Boyle Workshop is designed with you + your goals in mind. At the workshop you'll learn practical ways to grow your business and you'll leave feeling equipped to actually make those changes happen. Whether your goal is to become a full-time photographer, become faster at editing, or learn how to start photographing weddings (and literally everything in between) - this workshop is for you. You'll leave with new friends, community, over 12 hours of education, brand-spankin' new images to use in your portfolio, fresh headshots, and a business that is ready to GROW.
An early bird seat to this workshop is yours for $599 until 4/15!
(full-price tickets are $849 after 4/15)
Yay! Welcome night! This will be a time to meet each other, eat some yummy charcuterie (among other appetizers), and best of all.... go on a sunset boat ride on one of southwest Michigan's most beautiful lakes! (*weather-permitting)
We are divin' right in! You can expect breakfast, coffee + lotzzzz of content followed by lunch + a portfolio-building styled shoot! After, we will come back, debrief, and have one more content block before a catered dinner at the pool (pooooool partyyyyy!)
After breakfast we are back at it - Cynthia will give a seminar all about editing (using the pictures from the styled shoot..feel free to follow along on your laptop!). Then seminars on marketing + SEO! After lunch there will be a Q&A session and then :( we say goodbye for now....
If you are a local photographer you are more than welcome to commute each day to the workshop. However, if you are coming from out of town I recommend staying these hotels: Bay Pointe Inn + Holiday Inn Express. Both hotels are within 20 minutes of the workshop location. If you wish to offset the hotel cost, I would recommend rooming with another attendee. I will put us all in a Facebook group together and facilitate this!
The workshop will be held at my parents' house in Delton, MI. Their spacious + cozy living room, newly remodeled kitchen, and heated in-ground pool are perrrrrfect for the workshop! (Yes- bring your swimsuit + towel!)
Once you register for your seat at the workshop, you will receive an email with the address for the workshop.
While a lot of the information regarding the styled shoot will be kept a secret until the workshop, I can share this with you: it.will.be.awesome. The shoot will include a model bride + groom, reception tablescape, and detail station. The goal of this shoot is to give you pleeeeeenty of pictures you can use for your portfolio! We will be working with the area's leading vendors to make this styled shoot as amazing and beautiful as possible. You can see the mood board here!
